Don’t just be a guitarist, be a musician
As a lifelong guitarist and musician, I believe in a disciplined yet curious approach to the instrument and the music it creates. To me, music is a vast landscape; your instrument is the vessel through which you explore and claim your place within it. The better you know your instrument, the more freely and deliberately you can move within that space
Students’ goals always come first, but lasting progress depends on mastering the fundamentals. My role as a teacher is to guide that process, building technique, theory, and musical understanding in the direction the student wants to pursue. I don’t simply tell students what to learn, I explain why it matters, what it means, and how it supports both their immediate goals and their long-term development as musicians.
Who My Lessons Are For
I have experience teaching both children and adults, from beginners to intermediate players. For beginners, lessons focus on establishing strong fundamentals in a way that supports the student’s individual goals.
For intermediate students, we identify and fill in gaps that may have developed over time, reinforce core skills for stronger long-term growth, and explore different styles and paths of progression to bring their playing and understanding to a higher level.
My lessons are for both the curious and the serious student, whether they want to play for personal enjoyment, join a band or ensemble, or prepare for further music education.
Teaching Materials & Resources
My teaching resources draw from a hybrid of established instructional materials and original content developed specifically for my students. Following each lesson, students receive supplemental materials, typically within the same week, designed to reinforce and extend what we covered.
These materials may provide a broad overview of a topic or be tailored specifically to the student’s individual goals and needs. Resources may include:
Clear explanations of concepts and techniques
Diagrams and charts
Exercises and etudes in standard notation or tablature (as requested)
Audio recordings and backing tracks
Reference photos and instructional videos
In addition to outlining what to practice, I place strong emphasis on how to practice. Students are shown effective practice strategies and, upon request, are provided with structured practice routines designed to support their specific goals and available practice time.
Extras
In addition to traditional instruction, I have a well-equipped teaching studio, including amplifiers, effects, and recording equipment, that allows us to explore tone, production, and musical context beyond what happens on the fretboard. The ability to record enables students to put what they are learning into practice, capturing their ideas and performances as fully produced recordings of their own playing.
My Lesson Studio
On-site students will enjoy learning in a spacious teaching studio equipped with all of the tools needed for effective and focused learning.

Online Lessons
For students who are unable to attend in person, I offer online lessons via Zoom or similar platforms, with the same structured, goal-oriented approach used in studio lessons.
Lesson Rates
Private lessons are offered at $50 per session for both in-studio and online instruction. Each session is one hour and may include the development of personalized materials outside of the lesson to support your progress.
A four-lesson package is available for $180, offering a discounted rate for students looking to maintain consistency in their studies.
For new students, I offer a short free introductory session (in-person, online, or by phone). This allows us to discuss your goals, experience level, and make sure we’re a good fit so we can hit the ground running in your first lesson.
Thank you for your interest. Feel free to reach out to discuss your goals or schedule your free introductory session. I look forward to working with you!
